Since joining the firm in 2014, Shaun has made a significant contribution to the development of the BRI practice in South East Asia and Asia more generally.  Shaun started the BRI practice in South East Asia and has built it into a market leading practice with rankings in all the major directories.  Shaun is also personally recognised in the major directories as being a leading lawyer for restructurings in the region.  Recent feedback from the IFLR 2018 rankings is a testament to this:

“Commercially minded, technically sound, calm under pressure and in difficult situations, which is an invaluable trait in distressed situations.”

Shaun regularly works on restructurings in Indonesia, India, Hong Kong and Singapore and has worked on some of the largest matters in the region for clients including Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank and ANZ.

Shaun was recently awarded the title Fellow of INSOL after having completed the profession’s pre-eminent qualification on cross border restructuring and insolvency. He is the only lawyer in Singapore who has completed this qualification. This is now all the more important given Singapore’s new US chapter 11 based restructuring laws looking to increase cross border restructuring completed in Singapore. Shaun was also recently elected as President of the South East Asia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.

And, when Shaun is not working tirelessly on client engagements, he is participating in charitable initiatives undertaken by Hogan Lovells, including a recent 450km cycle for charity through the hills of Danang, Vietnam to raise money for Newborns Vietnam.
